I was reading in a magazine article recently about Randy Jackson. The article said he was "breaking his silence" and coming forward with who he was rooting for all along on American Idol. He admits... he was a Ruben fan.

No shit?!

I'm stunned! Who ever would have thought? Please insert sarcasm here. Anyone with eyes, ears and half a brain knew as soon as Ruben waddled walked onto the audition floor, he was Randy's favorite. When Ruben performed substandardly and should have been offered "constructive critism", he was instead given applause, ovations and the "dawg-dude-man" rhetoric from starstruck Randy.

I don't know if it's because of all they share in common or if Randy is on crack, but Randy's infatuation with Ruben was evident. If this had been a judges-vote-the-winner type of contest, I'd be crying "favoritism".

Not only was the article's contents not a surprise to anyone... what a slap in the face to Clay, who now has it in print for all the world to see that he certainly wasn't Randy's favorite. Knowing Clay, though (as well as I can from afar), he likely wasn't bothered by it at all. He's a true gentleman and probably feels nothing but pride for his fellow competitor.

Sorry, Randy. You didn't pull the wool over this Clay fan, nor too many others, I suspect. We read you like a book from the beginning.
